Meet our Governors
Mrs M Bryne - Chair (Safeguarding)
My name is Mandy Bryne. I am the manager of Gt Clacton pre-school, which is located at Burrsville Infant Academy. The pre-school gained its Outstanding grading in Spring 2015. I have had links with Burrsville Infant Academy for many years as my four children all attended here during their primary school years. I now have two grandchildren and am proud that they both currently attend Burrsville.
Mrs L. Gent - Vice Chair
My name is Lynn Gent. I am a governor at Burrsville Infant Academy and, before that, was a member of the Transition Board. I now live in Kirby Cross but, before moving there, lived in Brentwood and travelled daily to Southend where I was head teacher of an infant school. My whole career has been spent in education and I continue to have a great interest in the ways children learn both at home and at school. I currently serve on two school governing bodies.
Mrs J. Searles - REAch 2 Governor
My name is Julie Searles. I am one of the Governors at Burrsville Infant Academy. I have two children and live in close proximity to the school. I work as a Financial Adviser and Director of my own business that is based in Tendring. I like to play an active role in the local community and having a young family myself I am interested in supporting our local primary school and education services. I am also Treasurer for a local Parent Teacher Association, as well as being involved in other local committee groups.
Miss A. Pargin - Teaching Staff
My name is Amanda Pargin and I am the Deputy Headteacher, EYFS lead and a Reception class teacher at Burrsville. I started at Burrsville in 2014 and have been a school governor since 2015. I previously worked at another local school in key stage one.
Mrs J Luxford - Non Teaching Staff
My name is Jackie Luxford. I am the Support Staff Governor and also the SEN Governor. I have been associated with Burrsville Infants since the eldest of my three children started school in 1995. Since then I have been a member of the Friends of Burrsville, a parent governor, a staff governor and have worked in the school as a volunteer, a TA and for the last nine years in the office.
Mr M. Bimson - Parent Governor
My name is Mark Bimson and I am a parent governor and also the Health and Safety Governor. I have two adult sons and one young daughter who attends Burrsville.
I took on this post in 2019, through some strange times. My work as an Assistant Manger of a distribution warehouse overseeing a team and fleet gives me great skills in managing health and safety and provides me with valuable up to date information that I can help implement into the school.
Being a parent governor is very rewarding ad as a parent of the school I wanted to give back to not only the school but the headteacher and her team.
Out of work and school, I enjoy a variety of things mostly involving my family life.
